“This is Ghost Town Number Six”… What an intro, Gcina! I love all the video and pics, Theo. So more immediate than reading the words but you can go to the words for something deeper. Excellent story, guys, and I love the web presentation. i didn’t have time to read the paper this morning but I feel I’m getting more out of the web content than I would out of the paper.

This is some amazing work Gman and Theo. I’ve always wondered about these empty houses which you are certain to find all over the country with no one occupying them but you hear people still saying they have been waiting for houses for over a decade.

This is so typical of the Eastern Cape Government, everything always goes wrong. They have NO priorities, the National Government should place them under an Administrator. The most corrupt province, the worst matric results, the worst potholed roads, the list goes on. well done on exposing these incompetent thieves, Gcina and Theo. At least you doing the Eastern Cape proud, maybe you should run for political office next time, so we can get rid of all these useless government officils.

The problem of poor housing to EasternCspe is simiar to the problem of Administration to the whole province, they employ inexperienced personnel to higher positions, they even ignore qualifications in some cases. It is better to do away with Provincial Government.

Its the sad story after the so called SA democracy since 1994-The province has gone from better to worse – you must ask yourself a question is this realy what the people of this province had fought for-are we reeping the rewards of what the people like Steve Biko Oliver Tambo Chris Hani etc the people who were even willing to sacrifice their lives for the better of the people – im sure even King Hintsa is turning on his grave wherever it is by these actions-if you look at it from the bright side each men is for himself out there not to mention fowl play by Bisho for the fact that the was not even a task team appointed to follow these projects sis!!! its disguisting .

failed housing project is similar to what is happening in water and sanitation .lots of money are spent and tenders are given to hungry lions who think of filling their empty bellies without thinking of the poor.
work done must be monitored and fully inspection should be done.
    thank u.

First of all I want to say thanks to Mr Gcina and Mr Theo for this web..!The eastern Cape province dont take incosideretion the education if you can go to rular areas the people out there the are not exposed in education because of poor recourceses and as a results youth end up using drugs and doing crime.Ugie is trying to develop but without Education we going no where even now we have this new Campany(PG Bison) but their are lot of people that working there are not from ugie thier are from other towns wheres the are lot of people who are unemployed in ugie.We must come together and try to inprove the passing rate in our schools around Ugie an intubetal schools on saturdays but we need a help from PG Bison to proved us with equipments.
    Thanks

Yes this place sucks and the poor management that only serve to feed their stomach look at what are they driving look at their houses what is really annoying is people have been promised for a long time nothing delivered, toilets has been build i dont know what year still not finished, we are scared to bring friends to our town Tarkastad cause there are no proper houses and toilts we need to have a new management that is goin to deliver.

Indeed Tarkastad politics sucks. In 2006 Minister Sonjica of Water Affairs launched a bucket system eradication project there. We thought Tarkastad was going to benefit first. This was not to be.We are still exposed to health hazard and there are many cases of TB in the town and this can be attributed to the bucket system that is still going on 4 years afeter Sonjica promised eradication of bucket system.
