AN ALICE pensioner is frustrated and angry that a bakkie he bought in Zambia with his pension is gathering dust in his garage because he cannot register it.

Mzwandile Masala said the Eastern Cape Department of Transport would not allow him to drive the bakkie on South African roads after it had refused to license it, reports Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni.

AN EASTERN Cape traffic officer and his family could lose their home after the department mistakenly cancelled a stop order on his housing bond to his bank without notifying him.

The department claimed that the money for Walter Martin’s bond was paid directly into his personal bank account and that it was his responsibility to pay over the bond money to his financial institution, reports Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni.

AN East London man whose life changed for ever five years ago when an industrial container fell on his right hand and he lost two fingers is demanding more compensation.

Johann Minnaar feels he has not been adequately paid for the 2005 injury which severely reduced the use of his dominant hand after the full amputation of his middle finger and partial amputation of his pinky finger, reports Michelle Solomon.

A KING WILLIAM’S TOWN husband and wife yesterday said they were “overwhelmed, excited and happy” that their names had been scrapped from a Credit Bureau listing – thanks to the intervention of the Dispatch Crusaders.

The happy ending followed a bungle over a Vodacom contract and a laptop computer, reported Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni.

AN EAST London man is searching for a piece of land he inherited from his father but which has since vanished from the city’s town planning maps.

Mlandeli Manyela inherited the land in Mdantsane, identified by official records as erf 1763, from his late father, Kolisile, in 2008 – but he has never seen the property, reports Michelle Solomon.

MimiA BRAELYN man was happy and relieved last week when the Dispatch Crusaders told him he would get R7 000 back after a cellular phone company had deducted it from his bank account.

A NEWLYWED couple had to cancel their December honeymoon plans when a local immigration practitioner failed to provide their Canadian visas and plane tickets.

They still have not been refunded the money for the documents, despite a contract in which the practitioner agreed she would repay the money, reports Michelle Solomon.

TWIN brothers from Peddie who passed matric years ago are still unable to register for university because they do not have identity documents.

Sipho and Yamkela Mati have been battling to get their birth certificates in order to apply for IDs from Home Affairs for about three years, reports Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni.

AN EAST London woman who is registered as a man on her identity document (ID) is relieved she won’t have to go through another embarrassing sex test to prove her gender.

Siyanda Sam had to go through a sex test to prove her gender last year after Home Affairs had issued her with an ID that identified her as a male in 2003, reports Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni.

An East London woman is  locked in a dispute with a  car  dealership over a faulty pre-owned car she bought  after trading in her previous car last  month.
Noluthando Dikgole yesterday  said she would take  AutoPride in  Vincent to court if they continued to block  her attempts to  cancel the deal.

She traded in her 2004 Polo hatchback at AutoPride and  bought a 2002 Audi A6 2.4.
