Police have arrested a 70-year-old granny and her teenaged granddaughter in connection with a spate of ATM bombings that have rocked the area for the past two weeks.
A police source close to the investigation told Dispatch reporter Lubabalo Ngcukana that the granny and her 14-year-old granddaughter were nabbed at a home in Elliotdale south of Mthatha on Thursday evening.
At the home, cops found commercial explosives – believed to be similar to that used to blow up two ATMs recently – a police uniform as well as military uniforms.
The source said police were also investigating whether a high-ranking police officer was involved in the attacks.
The two suspects were expected to appear in court soon.
At least two ATMs belonging to Nedbank were bombed in the last week – one in Bizana and the other in Flagstaff.
In both counts, the robbers got away with undisclosed amounts of money.
There is no age limit to affirmative banking!!!!
LOL Shaun…
I must say, I’m quite shocked and most things don’t shock me, but this is unbelievable!
The thing I find unbelievable is how quickly SAPS broke the case.
Well done, guys, more strength to you.
CAreful now, what better place to hide this stuff than with a poor old granny. She could be totally innocent – and whats the bet she is going to plead innocence and coercion and go home with a huge smile and a fat paycheque in the apron pocket.
……..with the rising cost of of food, anything is possible. That’s even the police being involved in the spate of bombings
I am very shocked hearing about the granny and her grandddaughter that are bombing ATMS. Lets face the truth, there is someone behind these bombings that suppliers the granny with all these resources, explosives, uniforms. I want to say I am not saying the granny is innocent she’s as guilty as the other perpetrator operating behind scenes. If there old people could allow to be victims of crime where is the hope of our families.
Bring back the death penalty.
This is ridiculous. Absolutely laughable! Our police system is a joke, let alone our media.Instead of protecting the elderly and vulnerable poor rural folks, the police go and make ludicrous arrests and the media goes and sensationalizes such senseless stories. Hey daily dispatch what happened to conscientious reporting? do not you want to make sure a story is credible before you put it out there?
ROFL!!!! Supergranny!
Uthink
what is laughable is that you think because she is a granny she needs to be protected from the media. Get this, the job of the media is report on matters as they happen, that are in the public interest. No one is sensationalizing anything. All they do is present the facts. If you dont like it dont read the paper. Well done DD
If the poor granny that lives next door is hiding a T4 tank in the garage, I think I have the right to know as it affects me. Or would you be ok if your ‘granny’ neighbour has a few hundered handgrenades and other odds & sodds used for tactical warfare in her kitchen closet ?
Atari Boy, are you now telling us that it’s no longer OK to keep our weapons of mass destruction in the kitchen?
I can’t keep them in the garage ‘cos that’s filled with my T4 tank. My bedroom cupboards are filled with baked beans and bottled water. I though of storing them in the bathroom, but the bath is filled with my emergency supply of diesel and the cupboard under the sink has my emergency toilet-paper stash. My lounge is filled with materials on Survival Tactics.
If I can’t use my kitchen cupboards, where else am I supposed to store my grenades? Do you expect me to leave them lying around the dining room where my grandkids can find them when they come to visit?
No, my friend, speaking realistically, the kitchen is the only place left for them.
You have to make allowances for the arrangements we mature people have made for their protection in our old age.
Atari Boy you better get your bearings straight and check your loyalties well. If you believe that story, then my friend you are likely to believe anything the papers tell you & yours is a lost soul. But if you have a little bit of grain, you will wonder if the reporter and the investigator have any space between their ears. Because those of us who happen to have something between our ears (and a beating heart ofcourse) questioned the cridibility of the story and felt compassion for the 70 y.o and her teenage grand daughter? Guess why??? Also note that it is human to believe and to feel. Hopefully you will allow yourself the same humaneness and you will realize that something is not right with that story. I will not be your 6th sense here. So use yours and speak up for those who can speak for themselves.
Uthink So, please remember that often the reporter receives the news from the cops. Despite your jaundiced opinion of the newshounds, I don’t think they dekiberately toddle off and invent news stories.
Was the offensive material found in the possession of the people? Yes. Was it reported as such? Yes. Was it also reported that the couple were released on warning, that is, they didn’t have to pay bail? Yes. Do you think the cops had to do their job? Yes. Did the journalist do their job? Yes. Should we stop them reporting on news? No way, Jose.
That way lies the censorship that we all endured under the previous regime. Or do you perhaps think that the Herald of Zimbabwe is a fine, upstanding, compassionate, impartial, humane, sensitive news purveyor?
You too Stentor??? I wonder if in your world the word “absurd” exists.I also wonder if it would do any good to those who think like you about to even ask if the term “probability” rings any bells because it does not seem like you ever came across such words. My guess is that if anyone of you gullibles had come across such terms you would realize that the story is very absurd because the probability of it being true is less than that of a snowball in hell. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that one out given the crime statistics in South Africa. Some emotional itelligence is all I am calling for from both the investigator and the reporter. There is no need to stiffen necks about this one. The reporter told a version of the story that he hoped would sell in disregard of how those involved might be, and how they have already been affected . He surely had his doubts abouts this story but went ahead and made it public because all he cared for was the publicity and not the facts. That is the mentality that I am calling into question. I have no doubt in my mind that the woman and her grand daughter are being used to make news. The truth is out there somewhere and the reporter knows this as well.
Lock her up and throw away the key!! Violent crime knows no age limit. Look at Mugabe, for instance….criminally insane. Where did she obtain the explosives? All explosives are controlled, by law, and users as well as suppliers thereof must keep strict records. I used to work on a mine, and explosives issued had to be accouned for. Shades of Ma Baker here!
@youthink so
My friend, it is clear that you are a bit lost in the woods here so let me help you out. I agree with Atariboy, and Stentnor.
All the DD does is report on matters as they are presented. They wake up one morning and go… “mmmmm we need a juicy front page, so lets thumbsuck a story”
What they reported are the facts represented. If and when the story develops, they will do the same. As Atari Pointed out. ITS IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST.
Maybe you are used to having neighbours private arm stashes. I surely am not.
” the word ABSURD ” – Well now dont get me going on this one…
Absurd happens all the time in SA. We have a president who cannot negotiate a party in a brewery…. We have a future president that claims you can take care of AIDS by having a shower after sex…. ABSURD…. And you think that a granny with a few AK’s , R5’s and rocket launcher is absurd. Boy ! reality is going to slap you in the jaw with a good dose of ” told you so “
was going to say….They dont wake up one morning and go… “mmmmm we need a juicy front page, so lets thumbsuck a story”
Ok tell you what …
You are so convinced it cant be true… You have proof ! Remember that you can only report on facts. Explain to us severely media spoofed mortals why this tory is so absurd, and why it cant be true…..
Uthink So – I really cannot see what you find so offensive in the article we’re talking about.
I don’t think you have to be a rocket scientist to see that the Dispatch reporter doesn’t see the two people arrested as Bonny and Clydette of Flagstaff, just as two dupes (my word, not the reporter’s) who were caught in possession of material that they shouldn’t have had in their possession. Unless you are going to argue that the materials they were found to have in their possession were items they should have been holding?
Where I might agree that you have a point is the wording of the advertising posters hanging from lamp standards. There, I agree, the DD is using sensationalism to sell the paper. But any reasonable, rational, thinking person sees the poster, not as responsible journalism, but as yet another form of advertising. Please don’t tell me you regard the posters as “journalism”! You might just as well regard the “Whiter than White with Omo” hoardings as scientific reports, if that’s your view.
Sorry, UThink So, but there seems to be a lot of sound and fury that, here, signifies very little.
Gadget, Stentor, and the whole lot of other Gobbling Gullibles out there, all I can say here is: there is a lot of truth in the saying ‘where ignorance is bliss tis folly to be wise’.So I will leave you to goble and goble and be gullible until you drool. Apparently you are not at a level to start questioning the moral value of some of the stories that are put out to the public yet, and the spirit in which they are reported. I guess you still have some growing up to do, and I will let you be.
Uthink so- No one can tell me that they did not know that the arms were in their home. It is against the law to have any unlisenced arms in you home. Unless this gran has these lisences, then I do not know why you think the DD was wrong in their report. Even if it was the police officer who was responsable for the bomings, you can not tell me these two knew nothing. Please wake up and stop beleaving in fairy tales. They are just as guilty as he is. Wonder were the money is?
Uthink So – A local/regional newspaper is not supposed to be the guardian of our morality. It is supposed to inform us, to make us aware, so that we ourselves can take such action to safeguard our morality as we choose.
Gray’s (somewhat abbreviated) quotation is perhaps apropriate, but perhaps we should rather consider Wilde’s “By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, [journalism] keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community.” Once we are aware of the ignorance, then we may be able to educate those who need it. The DD does a pretty good job at keeping us informed – even if we don’t always appreciate what they are telling us.
On a final note, if the word you are looking for is “gobble”, then please learn to use the spell checking programme. Misspelling merely allows cheap shots to be taken.
Nighty night, old chum. Pleasant dreams.
Gnite stento & take all the cheap shots with you. Purdy,we all do not know if they knew about these weapons and that is the point. The investigator needs to investigate further and get to the bottom of this. At least the SAPS owes us that much. How worse can they be if they can not even take a shot at something so obvious that me and you can figure it out from our living room chairs?? As for the reporting, I expected something more qouthed from them. The headline is obviously purposefully misleading to sell the paper. How low can you sink? Our media is obviously after making a quick buck, but the question is at what cost? If we are to be led to loose respect and trust for the elderly who too vulnerable and frail to protect themselves and solely depend on society and younger generations treating them with repect and dignity how are they then expected to surivive? Becuase their main source of strength is the value we place on them and our trust of their intergrity and humanity. So should we allow some baseless story to take that away from them? What else is then going to protect them from the murderous society SA has become if we allow the media to strip from our hearts their only source of protection: the belief that they are innocent and godline? Most rural folk’s safety depend on their communities cultural and religious beliefs about them to survive, and not the police. The only thing that still keeps them safe from criminals is the belief that the elderly are to be revered. So allowing some baseless fact by resporters who trying to make a fast buck is putting a lot of folks at risk. Did you think about that?
UThinkso, there are a number of problems with your concern.
First of all, I don’t think the reporter makes any kind of bucks at all from reporting “baseless facts”. Perhaps the owners of the Paper (Avusa, isn’t it – used to be Johnnic) might make larger profits if the DD sells more copies, but I can’t see the Flagstaff staffer reaping rich rewards.
Secondly, the reporter reported the facts, and there were enough facts for the cops to lay a charge.
Thirdly, if the safety of the rural elderly is dependent upon their reputation (in which case why am I paying taxes to support the cops and the justice system?), then your gripe should be with whoever blew their reputation by leaving the arms and ammunition with them in the first place.
Finally, if we really want to protect the elderly then we all need to stand up and do something about the lawlessness that we have allowed to prevail. We need to be railing at the criminals who are prepared to leave dangerous materials in the care of teh rural elderly, at the corrupt cops who take bribes to alter records and falsify evidence, at the prosecutors who (apparently) forget to take statements from high profiled accused people, from the legislators who band together to deny the overseers oversight, the leaders of associations who are (reportedly) ready to kill to get their own way – these are the people we should be complaining about, not the newspapers who inform us of what is happening in this great country of ours.
You complain about others being gullible – look in your own mirror first.
Well Gandalf, I guess its not uncommon for all those in glass houses to throw stones and run off at the mouth on a matter like this one. I can not expect all of us to be on par on the issue of the marginalized groups because it will always be easy for those who have the comfort of their living rooms to tap off at their computers and voice their apathetic comments. Its safer to think than to feel. The hardest work facing our leadership is to get the society to feel and act upon their feelings. If we could, as a society, be able acknowledge and give value to our emotions the world would be a better place for us all because everyone else would do as they would like to be done by. No one would want to profit from their fellow countryman’s misery and pain. Our politicians, police, journalists etc would be more conscientious in delivering their services and me and you would live in better world.
UthinkSo, you seem to have somewhat unrealistic expectations of the world we live in. The hardest woprk facing our leadership is to STOP people acting on their feelings and to think about what they say and do before they place themselves in untenable situations.
I agree that our emotions have value, and that no-one should profit from the pain or misery of others, and I agree that some of our police, and most of our politicians could be more conscientious. I exclude the journalists as they’re paid employees with effective oversight and the penalty of dismissal always in sight.
But I cannot believe that this improvement will be achieved by acting upon our feelings rather than by exercising our minds and applying our brains, not our emotions, to any particular problem that we face.
UthinkSo give up friend, you’ve obviously missed the whole point of the article. Are you actually saying the elderly are above being reported on? You’re taking this report a bit too personally, are you related to the granny? If you are, you should be helping to find whoever was trusted enough by this family to be able to stash the stuff there (instead of slating the cops and the DD reporter for doing their jobs). Nothing in that article insinuated that the granny was involved in criminal acts using the explosives, but it was reported that she’d been brought in after the stuff was found in her home.
This is not about “marginalised groups” as you seek to make it. Unless of course we’re talking about the granny possibly being marginalised by a criminally intent relative who most probably the stuff there. I also find it very hard to believe the granny or her daughter even know how to use the stuff, but do I think it should have been reported differently? No a chance! Mindsets like yours are not good for journalism or the culture of free speech and access to information.
Gandalf & Sbuz, your comments are worthy in that although I absolutely disagree with what Gandalf says they make sense if one harbors a similar world view. But mine is different and so I will agree to always disagree with you guys on this one. Yes you are right Sbuz mindsets like mine are only good for humanitarian work and social justice activism. And one day when you are victim of any kind of social injustice like this woman and her grand daughter, rest assured that there are those like myself that will be on your side. And speak up for you.
What social injustice are we speaking of here, Uthink So?
The DD reported accurately that two people had been arrested. That’s a fact. They also said in the article that the cops were really seeking someone else, but that the couple had been found in possession of articles they were not allowed to have. That’s somewhat of an opinion, but it does display a degree of empathy with the old lady and her grandchild that you seem unwilling to credit the DD with having.
If your argument is that the DD should not have used the case on it’s poster boards, then take it up with the Advertising Standards Authority.
WEhat worries me in all this is , why would DD/the police waste taxpayers money to go and creat stories where there is NONE?…that’s impossible..granny knows something even if she did not physically bomb the ATM’s,that’s a very nice place to hide evidence [with an old lady&underaged child] so people like “U think So” can feel sorry for them&pretend nothing happened DON’T YOU THINK?
Ask yourself this…WHY HER? what’s so special that she can just be accused? smell a rat where there’s a DEAD one ! ![]()
All I need to know is where is the money?Yhaa well we can say “there can be a 3rd party in this” we’ll let the law take its place…should’nt we?
I am glad you asked your question Gandalf. It is a sound question and it shows me that you are open to exploring some of the covert issues and unseen avenues of this matter. Yes there are subtle issues here and its going to take me a few sentences to explain to the bloggers. I hope you will be patient a little with me here because I will be back within a few hours. But I promise you my response before the moon becomes the sun!
alright Gandalf, now to speaking to your question, the social justice issue I am talking about might be better illustrated if I use this analogous example: Suppose I taught one of your boys in my classes and gave him 15 exams over a period of about 9 months. Say he obtained between 90 & 100% in all the exams. Then on the 16th exam your son only got 10%. What would I have to do as teacher in this situation? Well there is a number of options. I could choose to grade that exam and record the mark in the register and get on with my day. Or I could call the boy and ask him to bring his question paper so I make sure he got the right question paper, and go over his script again to make sure I did not miss anything. The second choice reflects a conscientious teacher and a caring citizen. And I am sure you would be happier with that kind of a teacher for your children. Here is what bothers me with the investigator in this case, He did not need to be Sherlock Holmes to know that in SA, the fourth murderous country in the world, the criminal population comprises males between ages of 15 and 30.Also, 90 % of the time, violent crime in this country is committed by this population. So it would be expected of him to find it out of the ordinary that a woman of 70 had such material in her possession, and be curious enough to investigate further. After all what idiot would not find such an event odd enough to look below its surface? We do not need to be Sir Ronald Fisher to understand that chances of such a citizen being part of the criminal population are highly unlikely. Had that woman been Mrs So & So do you think it would have been that easy to “arrest” her? I bet you, at the most she would only have been taken in for questioning and the investigation would have proceeded until the actual culprit was caught.Without a word to the media. Actually the society would have readily voiced its disbelief if she had a different socio economic background. Like we did when we read in the newspapers that Jacob Zuma had raped a woman. No one ever believed that at first hand. Simply because he did not seem to meet the criteria those who belong to the population of rapists meet. Was he “arrested” for that crime? Heck No! But he did appear before the court and the proceeding of his case we all know. So, as not to take much of your time, I will have to ask you to follow my line thinking and wonder if this arrest is really about solving a criminal case or its about taking advantage of those who are vulnerable and unable to stand up for themselves. As for the DD, I would have expected of them to use this case to show the public how hopeless and corrupt the system is. How dare they slander a child’s reputation like that?
@ uthink
Your statement – And I quote
” First of all, I don’t think the reporter makes any kind of bucks at all from reporting “baseless facts”.
My Friend are you on Rittalin, do you need Rittelin… How about Prozac. Cause it seems to me like you need give your brain something to either wake up or slow down.
Your comments although filled with massive discriptive words from the English language are actually void of ANY valid points. Its like u are gargling horse manure….
Why waste your time blogging if you cannot make a point ?
Uthink So, you seem to have a serious challenge when it comes to the police obeying their mandate, and the DD carrying out theirs.
From the reports, it seems that the police discovered a cache of forbidden material. They have no choice, they are obliged to arrest the holders of the material and to charge them. Please note that at this stage the alleged offenders have not been found guilty, merely charged. The cops themselves seem to acknowledge the issue when they said something to the effect that they didn’t see the arrested two as the instigators of the crime and that the cops would continue to look for the person they suspected might have left the materials where it was. Reading between the lines, the cops seem to say that they know the two charged are not the villains of the piece.
The DD reported what had happened. That’s all. They didn’t make up the facts, they didn’t encourage the police to arrest anyone, and they DID write the report in such a way that anyone with two brain cells to rub together could see what seemed to have happened, that someone who had no regard whatsoever for the potential effect upon the two people arrested had left arms and munitions in their care, knowingly or not. There is your villain, UThink SO, not the police, not the courts, and not the reporter.
I don’t see the system as wrong, I don’t see the system as corrupt, and I really don’t see what you are so vehemently complaining about.
Gandalf
Some people feel that they need to be the moral mouthpiece of society. Some do it quite well. Others make their name completely toti by getting it wrong. ?!??! Its like the soap box speeches in central park…. Much noise , but nothing actually being said that is worth while…
Hang on
gaaaaaaaarrrrggle !!! Aaaa thats feels better
Morning Gadget, looks like the caffeine is kicking in.
On a slightly different note, but following on from your blogg, can you imagine if people were encouraged to take their soap-boxes to one of our green spaces and then pontificate to the masses? Or to the people walking their dogs?
I think it might be great fun always providing that the speakers were allowed to speak without having things thrown at them.
Opportunity for small businesses too – to rent soap boxes, sell coffee and hotdogs, for someone to make instant placards (”Viva Gadget, Viva!” “Gandalf sucks!”), but I think we should prevent the sale of old eggs and squishy tomatoes.
Mmmmm A point well worth considering next tine I address the masses with my frivolous comments on the beach
Gandalf, Regarding the non-descript comments of certain individuals on this page….
The process for a stupid person to realize that he or she is stupid, is a long and painful one.
A wise man once said to me, in respect of a certain speaker, “That gentleman is intoxicated by the exuberance of his own verbosity”.
I asked my uncle what that meant – “He’s drunk with the sound of his own words”.
If you know anyone looking for a cap that fits……
Well to you Gandalf & your lackies, I am tempted to quote the saying “Do not argue with a fool…
but for the sake modesty I will not. You might be ok with police arresting 14 year olds from economically disadvantaged communities but I am not. The least I can do is to put it out there. What I know is that if a juvenile is in trouble with the law, the child protection services is called in to take the child into a place of safety until the case is decided in the court of law, not to be arrested. And had that child been from a better off family, her rights to protection would have been observed.
Arrrrrgh Gaaaaaarrrrgle
Now I get it, from your hometalk we can establish that u are black. Sorry to point that out , but now it all comes together
70 year old gogo with explosives Ha Ha Ha!!!mzantsi Fo Sho.
UTHINK. We live in an absolute perfect country. Where every thing runs according to plan, all government policies work, there are no such things as juvenile criminals, and people who are put into these positions, such as ”child protection” don’t ever abuse these positions.
Shame, I pity you the day you become a victim of crime due to your narrow mindedness.
Where was the grandfather when this happen its amaizing what women can do these days specially the old ones.
Uthink…………give it a rest.
You seem to have made an ass of yourself. Your reasoning makes no sense. Your points are not even valid as I think that YOU are the one that has read between lines that don’t exist and made a mountain out of a mole hill.
I for one can easily believe that a grandmother and a 14 year old girl have knowledge or participated in these ATM crimes. Quite believable in this day and age considering 8 year olds are abusing other 8 year olds, 15 year old raping 80 year olds.
So get off your soap box! You are becoming quite an annoying joke!
You go break a leg Hessop!!! there you have your fools’ drool.
I am not sure why you are pulling the race card now BRfm. I wonder how this country would be if, by your shallow mindedness, I suggested that you were some race that is known for that in South Africa. I will not say it here but I can tell which side of town it used to be located. And what if I was Black???
Vee spot on
Uthink, I think that should be Usleep..
Not pulling the race card dude… ITS SO OBVIOUS that its all about the poor gogo to you. Shame she is a victim… Shame she is being targeted unfairly, Shame she and her teen daughter, what will become of them..
Listen carefully. If you take in 200 packets of LSD in your house… If you are older than 13 you know right from wrong. If you are 70 or 80 and you get caught… YOUR PROBLEM. You are old enough to carry the fruit of your actions.
Uthink how old are you…. Not all of us are fools dammit. If someone takes a stash of arms and stores it THEY KNOW ITS WRONG. No matter what age you are. Dont feel sorry for her cause she is a granny. It was a well known fact that in the 80’s Unkhonto Wesizwe ( scuse the spelling ) used the houses of the old and aged to store arms and explosives. So please get a life.. Or do you have a short memory.
You are the one who pulled the race card mate.
Read your previous posts…. Hinting that its a ludicrous suggestion that an old woman in Flagstaff or where ever could EVER be involved in this. But If it was a white couple in the freestate I bet you would call them racists. SO carefully evaluate your statements with reality. The only one who is shallow minded is YOU my friend. Feeling sorry for someone because they are old. So what if the report left out the age and just reported that someone was arrested without even mentioning the age. Would still get your panties wet. No I doubt it very much.. Get off you soapbox sit down…. Unless you have something meaningful to say or wish to make a worthwhile contribution to the discussion that actually makes sense. You are arguing a point that actually has no basis at ALL.
And not what IF you were black…. We all know you are black… Just like I am white Anyway, who made you the moral mediator and pillar of the community.
It kinda makes me wonder do you know the granny… Might she be family hence the defensive line you have taken to protect her !
So uThink…. Me think you sleeping…
And just for interest, who the heck is Hessop ?????
Now you have everyone confused with more frivolous, non descript shades of horse manure.
ITS HENNOP ….. jAN HENNOP….
I suggest that actually read the paper and not just look at the pictures.
Gadget are planning on making someone eat your urine? Then stop pissing and start talking sense. Race is not the issue here. Compassion knows no skin color or maybe I am wrong again. Who else in the world would make other human beings eat his urine other than your lot?
Not about race…..Could have fooled me….. ????
Is that a Sherman tank in my garage… By golly I think it might be…. Gandalf bring the petrol… Hang on , I think I better stop by grannies house to pick up a few Rocket Launchers…. Actually damm I think I picked up the last one on Friday better ser for a few Talon heads for the .45 instead..
In most cases people tend to think before making complete and utter dorks of themselves. But You just keep proving me wrong… What do you have line up for your next act… Are you related to Zwelinzima Vavi or perhaps Julius Malema perhaps ??? Ah well you argue with yourself.. am going to dinner…
And just for the record, by reading your last statement you ahve declared to the world that you are racists as well… ” you lot ” Could it be that you are referring to young males living in Bloem…. Mmmmmm …. Thank heavens I am thick skinned it would tale more than a comment like that to even get to me…. Yawwwn….
Sleep tight Gandalf… Tomorrow bring the fuel for the Sherman talk… I am heading for town hall
So here is me reading the dispatch blog and my ole mate the GAdget Pops up.
Always stirring … Hee hee.. Guess its the radio DJ In you…
Uthink I can say that I agree with most on the blog that you are a bag of hot wind. Your points dont even make sense. I agree with Gandalf…
Gadget if you need help with the Sherman shout
But Gandalf & Gadget you should know better than anyone that all reporters are liars, news papers are only in it for the money, and well the cops are a lying bunch of dirt balls..
Maybe this dude is onto something. After all my gran had personally own a Glock with a spareroom filled with ammo. Thank heaven she gave it to my ten yr old daughter other wise we would have another scandal.
Uthink….. What you smokin Bro ? Can I have some…. Becarefull the cops dont get yr stash.. Imagine tomorrows Headline in the DD… ” Angered Blogger gets arrested with Dope stash after Police Tip Off. Granny gets named as possible culprit ”
You should have your own tV show yr so funny
Guess what C3PO? I have a lecture room full of very amused students whose assignment is not only to estimate the gender, age , race and SES (socio economic status) of the blogger population but to also gues your level of education and your intelligence levels. I am afraid they are doing a good job! with my help ofcourse. Now, like we all guessed, you guys are beginning to prove the point that only low lives spend this much time loading crap. Only those who when they wanna pee, think people’s food as good place to offload the wee!
Oops! My bad C3PO.I did not say you wee on people’s food when you pissed off. We still do not know if you one of those yet. But we are just about to find out. Anyway you are not likely to get this one too, like the many you and your lackeys have missed. Your IQ geustimates tell me not really worry. I would not say its the pot you are smoking becuase EL has good grade weed for all I know. Now go have a joint and come back and give us some more info about your lousy self. My students want A’s in their assignemt.
Uthink…. are you really a lecturer? Maybe at the same uni as Dr Fikeni?? What are you lecturing the students?
Amazing, people with illusions of grandeur are spewing forth their version of the truth to gullible students.
Where is the hope for the future when id!@ts with past issues is ‘indoctrinating’ the workforce and leaders of tomorrow.
Eish, viva Africa… (if anyone cares, look at today’s international newspapers on Zim, sounds like a place some of the current lectures might be in their element, no-one to oppose their garbage!)
Hey Happy Expat!!!you were kind of silent over the past few days. I was beggining to wonder what had become of you. However, it could be that you were using other names to post your blogs. You do not come across as being a descendant of European settlers though, So why would be so naive?? Nonetheless guess what your IQ score has been estimated to be???
Uthink,
U and your students, give my profile a go, see how close you get! Once you post your ‘findings’, I’ll tell you how close you came.
Good luck!
AND, are you advocating that the law can be transgressed (like your example of the student getting 10%), and then pardoned if it is not normally part of the cognitive behaviour of the individual involved?
OR, are you propagating a stereotypical generalisation about socio-economical and political subcultures based on your beliefs? If so, Zuma cannot possibly be guilty of any thing because….?
Ray and Faye Copeland (VERY relevant to this blog and your viewpoint) were your ‘stereotypical’ individuals, yet they became….? (Some research for your enlightened students)
IN ADDITION, you claim to know a lot, then you should surely be aware that the methodology utilised in statistical analysis can manipulate the outcome and furthermore, that the analysing technique can produce ‘favoured’ results.
THEN you should surely know that political influence and connections, added to communities cultural and religious beliefs, are responsible for many ‘wrongs’ to be overlooked or covered up, particularly in Africa. These community cultural and religious beliefs have been responsible for atrocious crimes (muti-killings etc). Please explain how an individual (Zuma) indicted for fraud, (now bear in mind Shabir was found guilty), a crime directly related to character, can be the president of the biggest political party and might even become the president of this country?
You might be right on one thing though and like you I am tempted to quote the saying “Do not argue with a fool…”
Uthink, let me have it! I know my actual IQ, so I’ll even tell you if you’re close!
I would luuuuv to see what your acurate profile analysis says bout Mine…. Oh please try me I cant stand the excitement…

Hey Gadget….
It seems like someone thinkd that a credentiall or a qualification in life actually lets you be some one. To Uthink students. If this guy is your lecturer, good luck … Did you get your degree at university of banaland… Or maybe at diplomasRus
Hey C3… Hows R2…
Cant talk to long… Have a Sherman to start up and its a long way to city hall…
Now it is clear why the youth have such a misguided approach when it comes to education.
And here is stupid me blaming the youth.
Cannot wait to see what he is going to say about the suitcases of dagga that was found in the Transkei. Geeez hang on it might be his stash…
When you going to NY again ?
UTHINK. For somebody who obviously lectures or teachers, your spelling and sentence structure stinks! Never mind having to read a few sentences over just to try to make sense of what you are saying. Now! I wonder what your IQ may be!!!! Mmmmm!

So Gadget when you say we (UMkhonto Wesizwe)used to store arms in houses of the old, you mean the explosives confiscated there belong to someone else?
UThink
I have a new project for your students that may give them something more positive to focus on. It could even influence the voting patterns for the next youth league president.
1. Can they explain what were the problems that existed, to cause Julius Malema to take seven years of High school, with two repeat years, to pass matric without a university exemption under the post 1994 education system? Has he gone on to further his post matric studies?
2. Is it necessary for him to submit an academic CV or policy proposals prior to the youth voting him in and giving him a mandate? Was his the best CV available or merely the loudest guy available?
3. Was improving education of the youth his priority policy proposal? If not what was it?
4. If he did submit CV and policy and his priority was not youth education, what were the reasons that made the youth believe he was the most qualified individual to lead them to a better future and vote him in?
5. Given his poor academic past, why now that he is in a position where he can do something for youth education, is he not focusing all his attention on improving education for the youth? Instead he is spewing confusing political rhetoric all over the TV. Let’s remember it’s his party that is in power not his so called enemy or dark force?
6. When is Malema going to say something that will actually positively influence the future of SA’s youth?
Uthink… Your students want A for their assignments. I think they might need the weed.. BTW which ‘university’ are you at.
Whiteboy… I get your drift. Mabey Malema studied at the same university Uthinkk is at… What are the possibilities ?
And now Unthink…. Methink the cat got yr tongue
Unthink…. What has happened to the IQ score? Or are you still looking for a calculator to work it out? I think you are just hot air. Please be careful do not to get to close to a baloon again as you might just get carried away again.
Me think Uthink is masquerading or related to jazzman or mafirofiro
Gadget – Ithink Uthink is busy making sure his students are doing a good job! “with his help ofcourse” – makes me wonder whether they are thinking at all……
(previous blog : I am afraid they are doing a good job! with my help ofcourse.)
It frightens me to think that the likes of UTS has any part whatsoever in shaping the minds of the next generation.
I was optimistic for my children’s generation; perhaps I’d better defer my optimism for the grandkids.
I wonder if Jassman and UTS are related?
Maybe we should teach our kids to think for themselves based on fact they gather and opinion they hold so that when they come in contact with people like Uthink they can just think – nothink
