The 45-year-old man who was wearing a blue tracksuit top, made his first appearance with his female co-accused, whom is alleged to have organised the girl for him last weekend.

A woman, 45, who used to work for the sportsman as a domestic worker at his home made a confession to Magistrate Nazeem Joemath before their court appearance.

The two, canot yet be identified because of the nature of the charge and the fact that they have not pleaded.

It is alleged that the sportsman contacted his former domestic worker on Saturday morning and described the person he was looking for and asked her to make “arrangements” so that they could meet.

The woman allegedly did find the girl and informed the sportsman of their whereabouts and where they could meet.

Upon his arrival at the place known to the Dispatch, the man picked up the young girl and took him to his home at an East London suburb, the State contended.

It is alleged that after arriving at his house he then raped the girl for several hours before taking her back to her home later that day.

Upon arriving at home the girl told her parents about had happened and the following morning the parents went to East London police station where they opened a rape case.

The accused together with his alleged accomplice were then arrested by police on Monday.

In court on Tuesday, the 45-year-old man’s wife cried frantically in the morning as she tried to find out where her husband was appearing.

She finally managed to track her husband’s attorney but had to wait until the afternoon to see him emerge from the holding cells.

The two accused were suppose to appear in the morning but their appearance was delayed as the 35-year-old woman decided to make a confession to the Joemath.

When they finally appeared, the sportsman kept his head low until their case was transferred to the bail court.

While sitting in the bail court the two accused conversed with each other before their formal bail application was postponed to Thursday. They are both in custody.
