Update: Woman found dead after hijacking

Here is an update of the shocking story we posted on Wednesday. A  woman was hijacked in Grahamstown  and later found shot dead next to her car near Peddie.

Police spokesperson Captain Mali Govender said four armed men hijacked the woman in her blue VW Jetta at about 12.30pm. She was found by the Grahamstown dog unit on a gravel road off the N2, about 30km away.

Govender, who said forensic experts were still at the scene last night, appealed to anyone able to assist in the investigation to contact the SAPS Crimeline number on 0860010111.

The name will be released as soon as the next of kin has been notified.
